merlinity

In which I learnedly discuss whether Merlin and Gaius are related or not, and conclude ‘probably not’.

I wasn’t sure about kicking off the merlinity discussion posts with this topic, as it might seem a tad defensive, but we decided to damn the torpedoes. Especially seeing as I am already decidedly on record as having a rather large incest kink – so I suspect most of you will believe me when I say that I’d still be merrily writing Merlin/Gaius fic whether they’re related or not; it would change the dynamics, perhaps, but not the substance. These matters are on my mind at the moment, as I am contemplating writing a longish canonical Merlin/Gaius fic, and am therefore trying to pin down a few details (if that’s even possible).
